STEMinistas go hands-on

Four girls make seed pods with compost and clay

On Wednesday, 24 science-minded girls got their hands good and dirty exploring the flora and fauna at The Radix Center in Albany’s South End.

They are the STEMinistas, a group of fourth graders from every district elementary school who are part of a two-week enrichment program in STEM – science, technology, engineering and math.

The young scientists learned about the ecosystem and environmental stewardship as they fed fish and chickens, dug for worms, made seed balls and more.

A big thanks to our community partners at The Radix Center for this incredible learning experience!
