Once a week, since the start of the school year, Roots Academy at West Hill students get lessons in science, technology, math and engineering – or STEM – from our terrific community partners in Cornell Cooperative Extension’s 4-H Enrichment program.
And on Thursday, first graders from Lisa Brennan’s class made a farm "web,” identifying photos of animals and crops that come directly from a farm then linking the photos with string to items that are made from things that live or grow on a farm.
The lesson ended with a yummy healthy snack of blueberries, granola and yogurt, and the enthusiastic scholars learned a bit about yogurt and fermentation, too.
